A polar wedge is required for the parallactic operation of a telescope that is mounted on a fork or single-arm mount.
The wedge is inserted between the tripod and the mount. By adjusting the polar wedge to the latitude of the observation site, the azimuth axis is tilted so that it is parallel to the Earth's axis. In this way, the polar wedge transforms the azimuth mount into a parallactic mount. This allows long exposure shots, as there is no image rotation with parallactic mounts.
NexStar SE 6/8 and NexStar Evolution 6/8/925 telescopes.
- use without tools, and can be easily adjusted - even under load
- modern, stable and portable design
- robust latitude adjustment with easy-to-read scale and built-in level
The hand control of your NexStar also allows equatorial operation. You do not need any additional software update.
