We were able to further optimize the design of the successful 175mm system. The aim was to meet customer requests for a larger field diameter while maintaining the same performance data. The result: 180mm with a significantly reduced focal length. With f/ 7.0 it is an exceptionally powerful device that is currently unrivaled!

5mm more aperture doesn't sound like much, but brings over 5% more light collecting surface. The resolution of less than 0.7" is very interesting, it is also possible to separate very difficult double stars. This resolution gives you a breathtaking detail view of the moon and planets, especially binocular! This 7-inch lens can be called the ultimate planetary device. Due to the shortened focal length, an aperture ratio of f / 5.25 can be achieved with our Riccardi reducer. Perfect for breathtaking astrophotos!
