An interesting combination of a classic dew cap with stray light protection, enhanced with the function of a spike mask. On clear nights, dew is often a real problem. After just a few hours, the optics begin to fog up, making observation or photography impossible. A good dew cap reduces the risk of fogging and thus extends the observation time.
The spike mask is a simple and effective tool that can give your images a dramatic effect. It is a good choice for anyone who wants to have Newtonian spikes in their astrophotography images without having to deal with image post-processing.
It also blocks stray light from the sides. Stray light, for example from street lights, reduces contrast and often causes unwanted reflections in photographs. Anti-fog caps are truly black on the inside. Stray light cannot penetrate the telescope in the first place.
ATTENTION: The dew spike mask is intentionally very tight to prevent movement of the mask during shooting, which can lead to double spikes in the images. Be sure to remove the mask from the lens before turning off the Seestar.
