FLI - Kepler KL400 back illuminated CMOS Camera (monochrom) Grade 1Kepler is FLIs new series of cooled cameras, providing higher throughput, more
channels, and a variety of new sensors, including scientific CMOS.
Scientific CMOS CamerasKeplers fi rst release, the KL400, is available with front or back iluminated (BI)
sensors. The BI version features a high quantum effi ciency (95%) 2K x 2K
CMOS sensor with read noise as low as 1.6 electrons. The large format KL4040
has a 4K x 4K high-QE front illuminated sensor with 9 micron pixels capable of
24 frames per second with only 3.7 electrons of read noise. The KL6060 will
have a 6K x 6K front or back illuminated sensor with 10 micron pixels.
Higher SpeedsThe extremely high bandwidth of Keplers USB3 and optional QSFP (fi ber)
interfaces make it possible to push up speeds on sensors already supported by
FLI, such as increasing the frame rate of the KAI-29052 interline transfer CCD
by a factor of 10.
More ChannelsKepler currently supports up to 35 channel readout, greatly increasing potential
throughput, as well as providing support for sensors like the ON Semi KAI-47051
interline transfer CCD.
New Generation EMCCDsComing soon - Interline EMCCDs! Global shutter, intra-scene switchable gain,
wide dynamic range and ultra-low read noise. The best of both worlds - ON Semi
EMCCDs capture bright and faint objects in one image.
Increased ModularityThe majority of FLI cameras are exported; to minimize shipping costs, Keplers
shutter, fans, and digital board have all been designed to be user-replaceable.
