Introducing iOptron´s new compact next-generation center-balance equatorial mounts - the CEM26!
Like its predecessors, the CEM26 was designed with portability in mind. Weighing only 4.5 kg, it can carry a payload of up to 12 kg. The key to this ratio lies in the CEM design, which concentrates the weight of the mount and payload directly on the center of the tripod for "natural stability".
- iOptron has added a number of exciting features that make operation even more convenient:
- A latching system for the gearbox with lock (easy to operate even with gloves on)
- Integrated Wi-Fi, which provides unparalleled connectivity
- A storable permanent periodic error correction (PPEC) for repeating optimal PEC training sessions. This further increases tracking accuracy
- A polar alignment routine for all stargazers who do not have a clear view of Polaris
- Adjustable counterweight bar, also for use at low latitudes
- Electronic polar finder ready for use at any time, without twisting the declination axis
The GoTo Control:
The CEM26 is equipped with the latest advanced GOTONOVA® GOTO technology, making it one of the most powerful and accurate GOTO mounts on the market. Its database includes over 212,000 objects. The Go2Nova® handheld controller is intuitive to use and its large 4-line LCD screen simplifies telescope setup and object finding.
iPolar, the electronic polar finder
The CEM26A mount features an integrated electronic polar finder scope, known as iPolar. The polar finder ensures accurate alignment of a telescope, even when Polaris is hidden.
Other exciting features of the CEM26:
- Cast and CNC-machined metal housing.
- Spring-loaded gear system
- Large, easy-to-use gearbox quick couplers
- Adjustable counterweight shaft for operation down to 0° latitude
- Integrated iOptron iPolar electronic polar finder scope
- Polar alignment routine for those who can´t see Polaris
- Go2Nova® 8409 controller with advanced GOTONOVA® GOTO technology
- Integrated ST-4 autoguiding connector
- Built-in Wi-Fi
- USB port for firmware upgrade and computer control
- 1.75-inch stainless steel heavy-duty LiteRock tripod
- Die-cast metal tripod spreader with accessory tray
- Hard case
- Optional 32-channel GPS (Global Positioning System)
- Optional iGuider autoguiding system
Supplied Accessories
iOptron includes a carrying case with the CEM26EC mount to increase the mobility of the mount and provide protection for the mount during storage or transport.
The included iOptron LiteRoc tripod has sturdy 1.75" diameter stainless steel legs. The tripod´s stainless steel legs consist of two sections with a 1.75" upper leg section and a 1.5" lower leg section. This two-piece design allows for high rigidity while maintaining a transportable dead weight.
Tripod Connection:
The mount is attached to the tripod from above with two M6 screws (see illustration). This allows an easy adaptation to own tripod constructions or also pier adapters.
