On the evening of August 12, 2026, an extraordinary celestial event is on the horizon: A total solar eclipse will pass over parts of Europe—though not over Germany.
Here in Germany, we will experience an impressive partial eclipse, which will nonetheless offer a rare and spectacular sight. Germany will be entirely within the Moon’s penumbra. As a result, the sun will not be completely, but clearly and visibly “nibbled away.”

Latest version 4.0
The OCAL collimator version 4.0 is a further development of the popular OCAL V3.0, OCAL PRO and 3.0 MAX collimators. The accuracy of the devices has been further improved. Thanks to improved optics and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, the OCAL V4.0 now covers all focal lengths. In addition, we have succeeded in bringing the OCAL 4.0 onto the market at a slightly lower price.
- The new version 4.0 of the OCAL collimator uses a larger front lens and a CMOS sensor.
- Resolution and imaging performance have been further improved compared to all previous models.
- Unlike the first previous versions, the OCAL V4.0 has a decoupled camera module in industrial quality.
- The improved optics of the OCAL Version 4.0 ensure that critical areas can now be focused even better.
- The area in the centre around the OCAL lens is now easier to distinguish from the background.
- The clarity of the image has been significantly improved.
