The APM XXL AzMaxLoad mount was designed in response to requests from many customers for a very large, stable and extremely robust alt-azimuth mount.
Despite its relatively compact dimensions, our mount is extremely robust and can safely support instruments weighing up to 100 kg on each side. Thanks to careful selection and combination of materials, the mount’s weight has nevertheless been kept quite low.
The bearing mechanism is of high quality, and the clamps are precise and can be adjusted with fine control. This means that, provided the instrument is well balanced, you can achieve very high magnifications without any difficulty.
The APM-Az-XXL-Dual-ME is the two-arm version of our mount. It is easy to use and ready for action in no time. The ME version is already fitted with encoders on both axes, allowing for motorised movement using a suitable controller (controller optional!)
