With the Nexus eFinder, you’re able to easily and quickly calibrate your telescope to find the objects you’re looking for. The eFinder uses an in-built camera to take a photo of the sky and compare it against a database of stars to instantly identify exactly what you’re looking at (a process called “plate-solving”).
The eFinder is accurate to less than one minute of arc, helping you locate even the faintest of fuzzies. And working together with the Nexus DSC Pro, the eFinder gives you real time accuracy – even as you move your telescope.
The Nexus eFinder also simplifies the 1/2/3 star alignment process. With it, you only need to do a one-time calibration that can then be re-used across multiple viewing sessions, and can point anywhere in the sky to align (rather than having to focus on specific objects as needed with traditional DSCs).
The eFinder is fully compatible with ServoCat and SkyTracker when used with the Nexus DSC Pro.
It can also be used without the Nexus DSC Pro, though in that case you’ll need to connect it to planetarium software like SkySafari Plus/Pro.
PLEASE NOTE: Nexus eFinder does not replace encoders when used with Nexus DSC Pro. When Nexus eFinder is used in ‘Live’ mode (with SkySafari Plus/Pro) then encoders are not required.
