The completely redesigned and revolutionary VERSION 4.0 collimator for your telescope. The market continues to move towards short focal lengths and highly sensitive cameras with extremely small pixel sizes. This increases the demands on clean telescope alignment.
The Ocal collimator is an innovative tool that makes adjustment easier in a completely new way.
Each Ocal collimator has an internal motor that moves the CMOS chip linearly. The software can be used to set the focus ideally for the individual areas of adjustment. This means you can focus on any area in the telescope without touching the setup or the image train. Coloured centring circles can be selected and adjusted using the accompanying software. The software also controls the line width of the circles as well as the contrast and exposure of the live image. Last but not least, a crosshair can be activated and rotated using the software. This allows all areas important for adjustment to be focused and aligned very precisely concentrically. The alignment of the crosshairs allows the exact linear alignment of the catch spider to be assessed.
The OCAL Collimator Version 4.0 is a further development of the popular OCAL V3.0, OCAL PRO and 3.0 MAX collimators. The accuracy of the devices has been further improved. Thanks to improved optics and state-of-the-art manufacturing processes, the OCAL V4.0 now covers all focal lengths. In addition, the OCAL 4.0 has been launched on the market at a slightly lower price.
The new version 4.0 of the OCAL collimator uses a larger front lens and a CMOS sensor. The new sensor is much more light-sensitive and has smaller pixels. This allows adjustment even in darker conditions. If the image is too bright, you can reduce it using gain and exposure time.

Unlike the first previous versions, the OCAL V4.0 has a decoupled camera module in industrial quality. This camera module is no longer connected to the circuit board. A completely new manufacturing technique allows this module to be installed in the OCAL MAX housing with the highest precision. The deviation during assembly is just 0.05 mm!
The improved optics of the OCAL Version 4.0 ensure that critical areas can now be focused even better.
The area in the centre around the OCAL lens is now easier to distinguish from the background. This allows for precise adjustment even under difficult conditions, for example when a centre mark obscures the lens. An additional black ring has been added to the housing for this purpose.
The clarity of the image has been significantly improved. Especially when a corrector is connected, the image is now much better than with previous models.
