The new Stargate-400P SynScan is the first model in the series to feature an elegant and robust telescopic metal Flex Tube Truss design, which allows for quick assembly and disassembly of the telescope and simplifies transport and storage. The entire telescope can be assembled and prepared for observation in less than 30 minutes. The mount allows for motorised control of altitude and azimuth and can be automatically guided to any of the over 42,900 objects in the night sky from the extensive database of the SynScan hand controller.

Alternatively, the telescope can also be controlled wirelessly via your smart device using the built-in Wi-Fi and the SynScan freeware app for iOS and Android. However, with the help of Freedom-Find™ dual-encoder technology, you can also move the telescope manually along both axes without losing alignment or position information, thereby benefiting from exceptional convenience and flexibility during your observing sessions. Simply move the telescope close to the desired object and let the computer do the rest of the work.

With the telescope retracted and the couplings released, it is possible to use the telescope entirely manually as a Dobsonian telescope.
