This Sky-Watcher SynCam 585C amateur astronomy camera is a very compact, passively cooled colour CMOS camera with a resolution of 8.3 megapixels, featuring the tried-and-tested Sony IMX585 sensor with square 2.9μm pixels.

Its main area of application is high-resolution planetary photography, as well as photography of the Sun’s and Moon’s surfaces. However, thanks to its extremely low readout noise and the absence of amplifier glow, it can also deliver perfect results for beginners in deep-sky photography of galaxies and nebulae. Using stacking or live stacking with compatible software, detailed, low-noise results can be achieved.

Thanks to its compact design and light weight combined with its small dimensions, it is the ideal companion for the Sky-Watcher HAX125DX Honders Miniastrograph, as a larger camera would be too bulky and would obstruct the telescope’s aperture. The black housing design prevents unwanted reflections.

The SynCam 585C camera is fully compatible with the software system from ToupTek Astronomy Inc. and is supported by a wide range of astrophotography applications and control software.
