Sky-Watcher’s top-of-the-range Esprit EDX triple-element ED apochromatic telescopes are premium telescopes of the highest quality, offering truly impressive optical performance that is on a par with, or even superior to, comparable telescopes from the leading high-end telescope brands.

Esprit EDX Super Apo Triplets have been designed primarily for the discerning astrophotographer, but also for visual observers. The premium, superbly corrected optical system delivers high-contrast images, rich in detail and free from noticeable colour aberrations, even on the brightest objects, with exceptional contrast and sharpness.

The Sky-Watcher Esprit 60EDX is a new model in the range and impresses with its compact design whilst delivering full performance, even on full-frame cameras. It is an exceptional f/6 optical triplet system featuring a premium lens made from Japanese Hoya FCD100 ED glass. Every glass-to-air interface is treated with an exotic, metallic anti-reflective coating to ensure maximum light transmission of 99.5 per cent. Sky-Watcher’s proprietary ‘Metallic High-Transmission Coating’ (MHTC) is one of the finest anti-reflective coatings in its class!

The Esprit 60EDX is not fitted with a rotating focuser, but does feature a rotating adapter on the focus tube to make it easier to centre the image. A carrying handle is included for added convenience. The telescope is fitted with a CNC-machined Linear Power-type dual-speed rack-and-pinion focuser and offers a high load capacity with absolutely no play. The graduated focus tube has a diameter of 2.75". The telescope is supplied in a soft, padded carrying case.

The set also includes a visually matched 3-element 1.0x M48 field flattener for astrophotography at f/6, to complete the set.

A visually matched 3-element 0.75x M48 reducer/field flattener (order number 20334) is also available as an option, which reduces the aperture ratio to f/4.5.

Note:

The manufacturer has informed us that a 2-inch connection is possible. Upon enquiry, we discovered that a 2-inch adapter is in the pipeline and will eventually be available to purchase as an optional extra. Technically, however, this makes no sense given the device and its short focus distance.
Although a 2-inch adapter was never included in the scope of delivery, the description does mention a 2-inch connection option.
