Solar observation is a very interesting area of Astronomy. There is something new to see here practically every day. Our home star is constantly changing! Regardless of in white light or in the narrow-band hydrogen or calcium band, observations of the processes on the sun are very impressive!
The photographic filter provides high contrast solar images in the calcium light around 393.3 nm.
- The filter is for photography only, not for visual observation of the sun.
- Housed in a 1.25" low profile filter cell
- Transmittance at 393.3nm - FWHM is 3nm
- Ideal for use with photographic objective solar filters, Herschel prisms or other solar prisms

The photographic filter increases contrast on the solar surface in the calcium and H-alpha ranges.

The filter reflects heat radiation and is designed for small refractors and camera lenses. It is necessary for H-alpha and calcium solar photography.

The Antlia Solar Discover CaK 5Å solar filter is designed to optimize the contrast of images of flares, supergranulation cells, flares, sunspots and other visible features in calcium K (CaK) light at 393.3 nm by using very narrow bandpass filters.

- For telescopes from 100 mm aperture we recommend an ERF filter in front of the objective for safe use
- The filter is optimized for refractors with a focal ratio of f/7 or higher. The optional Barlow lenses from Antlia can be integrated into the filter
