The dovetail bar enables the adaptation of compact telescopes, camera lenses or spotting scopes to astronomical mounts with quick-release couplings and also to photo tripods. A dovetail bar made from 3D printing has a similarly high stability to a conventional bar, but offers a significant weight saving compared to conventional metal bars due to its lower weight.
The slotted hole in the centre of the rail allows a distance of 90 mm between the pipe clamps.
