Product description

The SV605MC is equipped with a CMOS sensor featuring a diagonal of 15.968 mm (Type 1), a square mono-pixel array, and a resolution of 3.76 μm × 3.76 μm per pixel. The monochrome sensor features a 14-bit A/D converter; the 14-bit digital output enables the signals from 9.07 million effective pixels to be read out at a high speed of 20 FPS. The readout noise is only 1.0e, ensuring that it is ideally suited for high-resolution, low-noise imaging of space objects.

Feature

  • No Amp Glow

Conventional CMOS sensors generate a faint infrared light source during operation, which is often visible in the corner of uncalibrated images as telltale signs of “amp glow.” Since the SV605MC uses an improved zero-amp glow design, no glow was visible during the 300-second exposure, ensuring that the “dark” image is of the highest quality.

TEC Cooling System

Thanks to its two-stage TEC cooling, the SV605MC can lower the CMOS sensor temperature to 30 degrees Celsius below ambient temperature, which significantly reduces dark current and sensor noise even during longer exposure times.

HCG Mode

HCG’s digital noise reduction technology significantly reduces readout noise while preserving the high dynamic range.

256MB DDR3 Cache

The SV605MC features a built-in 256MB DDR3 image buffer. The advantage of the image buffer is that it temporarily stores the image and transfers it to the computer when the USB interface is idle or interrupted, ensuring that the frame is not lost or corrupted. This buffer also allows a slower computer with USB 3.0 to capture every frame without loss, even if the USB bus is occasionally occupied by other peripherals. This buffer also allows another camera to be operated with the same computer without causing problems with USB transmission from the SV605MC

Supported Systems

For Windows systems, the SV605MC supports N.I.N.A., TheSkyX, APT, Sharpcap, and other software that runs via the ASCOM platform using the ASCOM driver. The SV605MC camera works with Windows, Linux, Mac OS, Chrome OS, and Raspberry Pi systems by running AstroDMx Capture.
