With these reducers for the FS-60CB or FS-60C fluorite apo, the focal length can be reduced by a factor of 0.72x, from 355 mm to 255 mm (f/4.3). This combination allows you to reach ranges that are otherwise covered by telephoto lenses – with uncompromising image quality. The image circle is exceptionally large for a reducer, with a diameter of 40 mm, but it can only be recommended for full-frame cameras to a limited extent. With an APS-C sensor, however, you have almost full illumination right into the corners of the image.
The connection on the telescope side is an M56x0.75 internal thread, while the camera side has an M52x0.75 external thread. We recommend the Takahashi Camera Rotator CAA-1 for mounting on the telescope. To mount a DSLR camera, you will need Wide T mount FS-60CB bayonet rings (see below). Please note: On the FS-60C (longer tube), this reducer can only be used without a rotator; it is then screwed directly onto the extension tube.
If you want to connect a CCD camera, we recommend the M52nM48p adapter, which converts to M48x0.75 external thread. It also allows the accommodation of filter wheels or off-axis guiders, and with the M48T2 adapter you can easily access the T2 thread.
FS-60Q: Of course, this reducer can also be used with the FS-60Q, but the Q module must be unscrewed, and the device then corresponds to the FS-60CB!
