The TS Optics Starscope 806 is a powerful refractor with 80 mm aperture

The compact telescope is well supported by a small equatorial mount, but also by alt-azimuthal mounts and photo tripods. The refractor is versatile and can be used (not only) as:

• compact travel telescope for birding, nature observation and, of course, astronomy
• telephoto lens for photography - camera adption via T2
• guide scope for astrophotography

Despite the optics is very good, you will notice the two-element achromatic construction. For reducing the chromatic error which is visible when viewing brighter objects at high magnifications, we recommend an appropriate filter. We are happy to help you with this matter.

Observation

For focusing, you need a 1.25" extension tube, a 1.25" star diagonal mirror or a 1.25" Amici prism.

For astronomical viewing, we recommend a star diagonal mirror, as it erects the image and allows for a comfortable view.

For daytime observations, you can also use such a mirror, but an Amici prism (45° might be the better choice) additional exchanges left and right, making the image look like correctly orientated, like in binoculars.
