Product description

An anniversary you can see

The limited edition from William Optics is limited to just 30 units worldwide and features a specially crafted anniversary finish, including an engraved emblem and individual serial number. Each device is therefore not just a tool, but a collector's item with lasting value.

Optical excellence without compromise

  • 5-element Petzval design for a perfectly corrected, flat image field – without the need for an additional flattener.

  • Super ED glass, two ED elements and one lanthanum element for maximum colour fidelity and sharpness.

  • 131 mm aperture, 648 mm focal length, f/4.9 – ideal for deep sky astrophotography with high light intensity.

  • WIFD 60 mm R&P focuser, EAF compatible, with 0–20 mm sensor tilt Xterminator rotator for perfect adjustment.

  • Extensive camera compatibility from Canon EF/RF to Nikon F/Z to Sony E, Fuji X and MFT.

  • Individual numbering: Each unit is uniquely numbered (01–30).

Weighing just under 10 kg and measuring 650–785 mm in length, the Ultra-Cat 131 is remarkably portable for its performance class. Its high-quality mechanics, precise rotation and focus solution, and Losmandy rail make it a reliable partner for demanding sessions – whether in the garden or under dark mountain skies.

A telescope for visionaries

The William Optics Ultra-Cat 131 is more than just an anniversary product. It is a statement: for quality, for passion, for looking into the future of astrophotography. Anyone who owns one of the 30 copies has a piece of William Optics history in their hands – and an instrument that can inspire generations.

ZWO AM7 - fits perfectly with the Ultra-Cat 131 telescope

The AM7 is ZWO's most powerful telescope mount with Harmonic Drive. It was specially developed for heavier imaging equipment, such as telescopes with long focal lengths, where tracking accuracy is particularly important.

  • Load capacity: The AM7 can carry up to 20 kg without counterweights and up to 30 kg with counterweights. This gives you plenty of scope for extensive equipment and allows you to upgrade later on.
  • Tracking and GoTo: The goal is simple. Solid tracking and reliable GoTo under real payload conditions, so you spend less time managing limitations and more time astrophotographing and exploring the night sky.
  • A mount for the long haul: The AM7 is suitable for both small and heavy mounts, allowing you to upgrade to larger telescopes without your mount becoming too small.

Tidy cables. Less clutter. Quick setup.
Many telescope configurations end up in a tangle of cables and additional adapters. The AM7 was designed to provide more order and simplicity. Thanks to integrated USB-C and power connections on the mount, you can use power and data where you need it without cables hanging everywhere. Even if you have custom equipment with a camera, focuser, tracking equipment and other accessories, the AM7 helps reduce cable clutter so you can set up faster and spend more time capturing the night sky.

Easy cable management - integrated USB-C and DC power ports
Weighing only 6.75 kg, the AM7 is easy to transport and quick to set up. The integrated prism clamp has a USB-C port and DC outputs, allowing you to route power and data through the mount instead of running a mess of cables around it. The result is tidier cable management and far less cable clutter than usual. For necessary adjustments to the mount, the AM7 also includes a magnetic hex key that is stored directly on the mount housing, so it is always at hand and cannot be lost in the dark.

Two operating modes – one mount for observation and astrophotography
The AM7 supports two modes, allowing you to use the same mount for both casual observation and professional photography. Switching between modes is done by quickly changing the position of the mount. You then select the mode on the hand controller.

Parallactic mode: Best suited for precise star tracking during photography and longer observation sessions.
Azimuth mode: Best suited for visual observations with quick setup and easy alignment.

User-friendly design: Portable control, sophisticated - Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity
The AM7 offers you two simple connection options, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, so control is always straightforward.

Bluetooth makes short-term use easier. Open your smartphone, establish a direct connection and control the mount without a hand controller. You don't need to switch your device to the mount's Wi-Fi network to get started. Bluetooth control: You can turn Bluetooth on or off by pressing and holding the BT button for 10 seconds. The setting remains stored even after switching off. A more recognisable indicator light: A new light guide column softens the LEDs, making the status lights more comfortable for your eyes at night and not interfering with your camera.

AM7 Smart Hand Controller – more than just a controller
The AM7 features a joystick-style hand controller designed for comfortable and intuitive operation. It also serves as an integrated connection hub for the mount. With its integrated Wi-Fi hotspot, you can control the mount wirelessly, manage settings via a simple web interface and perform firmware updates for both the hand controller and the mount. This is the most important way to keep the system up to date. Bluetooth, when you want it, turned off when you need it Bluetooth control is a convenient option for direct control via smartphone when used outdoors. However, some environments require stricter radio control, such as remote observatories or permanent installations where interference or legal regulations are a factor. For such cases, the AM7 Bluetooth allows you to easily disable it when necessary and re-enable it later when it makes sense.

Ergonomic design with hollow rotary knob
The clamping knob of the prism clamp and the knob for fine adjustment of the azimuth have a hollow design. If manual rotation is restricted, you can use an Allen key to provide additional leverage, making adjustments easier and more reliable with less effort.

Smart control, easy operation - Sky Atlas mobile app for iOS and Android
The AM7 can be controlled wirelessly via the Sky Atlas app on iOS and Android. You get a live star map, easy object search, quick-use tools such as "Tonight's Best", "Target GoTo" and precise alignment to the objects you want to observe or photograph.

Works seamlessly with ASIAIR in station mode
The AM7 also supports station mode, making it easy to integrate with a controller such as ASIAIR. Since the hand controller has Wi-Fi, ASIAIR can connect to the mount via the network, allowing you to make a clean installation without a direct control cable between the AIR and the mount.

Seamless interaction with ASIAIR
ASIAIR can connect to and control the AM7 via a wireless or wired connection, allowing it to fit seamlessly into a variety of setups.

Since AM7 and ASIAIR are part of the same ecosystem, you don't have to worry about driver support and compatibility. You don't have to piece together software from different vendors and hope that everything works smoothly. And with new features constantly being added to the ASIAIR software, you can rest assured that the AM7 will keep pace and new mounting options will be integrated directly into the same system.
