Questar 7 -1983 complete telescope +(PGIII) package; Offering a 1983 Questar 7 fully assembled telescope (mystic purple!). Includes the following: Questar Classic tube with Cervit mirror and broadband coatings (the OTA did not have a "CV" etched in the serial number for some reason -Jim R. at Questar can't figure out why - but he has changed their records to show the correct serial numbers). Sliding dew cap . Both front and rear covers. Includes the PGIII handheld remote and an AC adapter. Includes the 3 table tripod legs which are adjustable for pole height adjustment Both hard cases with wood grain (the OTA case has new foam - but no keys, the fork base case has two keys). Includes instructions for the telescope and PGIII, paperwork from purchase and two Questar service invoices. Emails with Jim R. (Questar) regarding the OTA serial number. This package has been used! It is not in collector quality or pristine condition. Previous owners have lightly scratched the OTA and fork mount (I put self adhesive felt on the inside of the fork, you can't see it when the OTA is mounted), a mini dent on the dew cap , the base of the fork mount has a few tiny dents. The mirror looks good, the front corrector might have a few tiny coating scratches from cleaning. This telescope offers great contrast! Everything works great. The mount runs great - nice and quiet - with a 9 volt battery or the AC adapter. This telescope has received 2 x Questar service. Once in 2016 for a full check / service and again in 2017 for the PGIII upgrade. If you buy the fork mount / base new - today - this would cost about 11,000 euros. If you buy this telescope and mount new -today it would cost over 25,000 euros with all taxes. Get this Questar 7, otherwise wait at least a year and pay over 25,000 Euros!

very rare example of a Zeiss 80mm f/6 Comet Finder, circa 1916. (Astro 30 cat. p.20). I have located only two others that have come up for public awareness in the last few years, one in Austria and another in Lazio, Italy. This brass instrument was designed as a wide-field scope to scan the heavens for comets. Therefore, it was created to operate at lower powers and not for high-powered detailed planetary work. It has a beautiful type "C" objective with a focal length of 49cm, serial #9088. The OTA minimum length is 25" and weighs a robust 25 pounds w/display pedestal. Awesome views of the moon and star fields! brief chain of ownership I have discovered for the Comet Finder. The previous caretaker was Walter Breyer who purchased the scope from Michael Sadigursky in California (1993). I can't find out anything about Mr Sadigursky, but I do know some info of interest about Mr Breyer. Mr Breyer was probably best known as the secretary of the Antique Telescope Society up until his passing. A little known fact about him is that he was a descendant of the founder of Breyer's ice cream which is very popular in USA. we have build and very much tested under real sky a high quaity 20" F/8.5 Maksutov Cassegrain ( Rumak Design) , optics made by Santel in Russia, Mechanics made by Matthias Wirth in Germany. The beast is now for sale . It comes with a set of tube clamps, dew cap, 3" Starlight Feather Touch extension, meniscus heater, main mirror vent, 2 maintenance flaps, handles to move tube, and 2 sets of losmandy dovetail holders for large guiding telescopes. The optics are very smooth and have excellent spherical correction. The lens is broadband multi-coated on both sides. The cooling behavior is excellent.
